Age is Just a Number

By Gardener Frost

Age is just a number.

I look in the mirror, as I ready to go out,
for the passage of time in mirth and joy.
The crows must have left light footprints
deep enough to trace by now?

Age is just one number.

I look in the eyes as I ready to go out,
for the passage of time has left its mark.
The plow has left a heavy footprint
deep enough to trace by now.

Age is just that number.

I look in my life as I ready to go out,
for the passage of time disappoints.
The winds wished for leave no footprint
deep enough to trace by now.

Age is just the number of footprints left.
